There are some basics things you will need to get started in motorcycle racing. We’ll cover the basics here and go into details in other FAQ’s.

• Motorcycle racing license from an authorized motorcycle racing school
• Race prepped motorcycle – See Section 2 under rules and regulations
• DOT (Department of Transportation), ECE, SNELL, JIS certified full face helmet manufactured in the last five years
• Leather motorcycle suit, motorcycle boots, and leather motorcycle gloves

If you already own a sportbike and attend motorcycle track days there is a good chance you may already have most if not all the items necessary to get started racing.

5. Aprilia RS600 is eligible for SuperBike Twins Light.

If you already have a motorcycle racing license or had a license within the last five years from MotoAmerica, CCS (Championship Cup Series, WERA (West East Racing Association), CMRA (Central Motorcycle Racing Association), MRA (Colorado Motorcycle Roadracing Association) or a license through one of the many other racing organization throughout the country, you can simply register for your PanAmSBK license through the website. Just list your current license status in the fields provided when registering.

When registering for your PanAmSBK racing license you will see this link in the description listing the racing numbers available for that season. When registering your license just fill in your desired race number in the field provided and we’ll take care of the rest.

Yes we not only issue a physical license but if you email us or send us a photo through facebook we’ll make you a custom license. Check out the license registration page for a sample photo. All of our licenses also come with a QR code that links directly to your PanAmSBK racing profile to make it easy to show your results to potential sponsors.

We recommend  aspiring motorcycle racers be at a track day intermediate level. We do not recommend attempting to race without any prior track riding experience.

Starting off riding at a track day allows you to progress at a relaxed pace with minimum motorcycle modifications. With Florida Trackdays, instruction and leather suit rental is included in the novice track day price. By learning the basics at a track day, you will have a much better experience for your initial racing weekend.

Yes if you would like to be scored and maybe win something you will need a transponder. We use MyLaps (formally known as AMB) for all of our timing and scoring. They are the most popular and advanced timing system in the market today. We have the MyLaps TR2 Transponder available for sale or weekend rental. You may also use the older AMB transponder that is compatible with the current MyLaps timing system.

No engine modifications are necessary to be competitive with PanAmSBK. In our 300, 600, Production Twin, and 1000 classes we have a superstock spec that does not allow engine modification. By saving the $5,000 – $20,000+ on a built engine, superbike engine, etc. you could fund an entire season of racing.

PanAmSBK is sponsored by Sunoco Racing Fuels. So the following fuels are allowed:

ALL classes: 93 Sunoco Pump Fuel located Track Side unless otherwise specified is legal

Superbike: Sunoco 260GT is legal to use for superbike classes

Our Sunoco sponsorship allows us to pay prize money during our race events as well as saving operating expenses for each racer.

For all classes EXCEPT Superstreet DOT race tires as well as slick race tires are allowed.

For Superstreet DOT is the only tire allowed.

Racers can register for their races, practice, and qualifying either through the website or pay direct at the track.

Racers can register for a race right up to the actual race time during the weekend.

We’re sorry but each race qualifying time must be taken from the appropriate qualifying session.

The cutoff to use your qualifying time for a grande corsa race is the start of practice on Sunday. Usually about 20 minutes after practice starts, the official grids for the grande corsa races will be posted.

The cutoff to use your qualifying time for a sprint race is the start of the first race on Sunday. The official sprint grids are usually posted after the start of the SuperBike 600 Grande Corsa race.

You will be placed at the back of the grid if you want to enter a race after the cutoff time.

In order to go directly to tech and avoid the registration line on a race weekend, you must register for qualifying and race(s). Tech staff will have your tech sheet waiting for you.

PanAmSBK offers prize money for all the Grande Corsa races.

For full payouts we need 10 riders per race class. The Sunoco Superbike 1000 is guaranteed.
